McAllen, TX : 20-year-old Weslaco man killed in motorcycle crash in Donna on Monday evening, March 6, 2017

A young Weslaco man died Monday evening after being involved in a collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor truck, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.

Tino Ramirez, 20, was transported to Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco with injuries sustained in an accident that occurred at about 9:50 p.m. near the vicinity of Farm-to-Market 493and Atlanta Road in Donna. He was later pronounced dead.

According to authorities, Ramirez was riding a Suzuki motorcycle and traveling southbound on FM 493 when the driver of a 1994 Kenworth tractor truck, who DPS did not identify in the release, collided with the bike upon attempting a right turn onto the street from Atlanta Road.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries nor was he transported to the hospital, the release read.

Charges have not been filed as a DPS investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
