A woman died after she was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 65 in Hardin County.
According to Kentucky State Police, Lynnsey Nicole Johnson, 21, of Glendale, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet northbound on I-65, near the 96 mile marker, when she lost control of the vehicle shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Johnson left the roadway and hit a guardrail. Her vehicle spun back into the northbound lane and was hit by a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Gary Nixon, 55, of Chester Gap, VA. The impact from the tractor-trailer sent her vehicle across the interstate and into the cable barrier.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
I-65 North traffic was diverted through Elizabethtown while crews worked to clear the crash scene.
The accident remains under investigation by KSP.
