Seatac, WA : Two drivers in critical condition after head-on crash in SeaTac on Sunday morning, July 6, 2014
Police believe alcohol was a factor in a head-on collision in SeaTac Sunday morning that left two people critically injured.
The two-car crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. and shut down South 188th Street between 16th and Des Moines Memorial Drive for hours.
Responding SeaTac police officers found a 22-year-old driver in critical condition in a red Nissan. Officers also found beer bottles inside the vehicle. A 42-year-old driver, also in critical condition, was found in a silver Subaru.
A SeaTac Police Department spokesman said the 22-year-old driver is suspected of driving under the influence and was speeding when he crossed the center line and hit the 42-year-old driver's car.
Both drivers were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The 42-year-old driver was upgraded to serious condition Sunday afternoon.
