Alameda, CA : Bicyclist seriously injured in collision with car on Tuesday October 4 2016
A bicyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon when he collided with a car, police said.
The name and age of the cyclist were not released, nor was the name of the car driver.
The collision happened about 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Sacramento Street and Alston Way.
Police said the cyclist was riding westbound on Alston and the car was going northbound on Sacramento.
The collision caused the bicyclist to be thrown to the pavement. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where his condition was not immediately available.
The car driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Police said drug and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
