Kissimmee, FL : Man in wheelchair hit, killed by cars in Kissimmee on Friday, January 9, 2015

A man was killed as he tried to cross the street in his wheelchair and was struck by a car Friday in Osceola County.

It happened around 11:10 p.m. Friday near Michigan Avenue and Ocean Street.

The man was crossing Michigan Avenue when he was hit. The driver stopped and tried to divert traffic. However, he was unsuccessful, and the man was hit again by a second vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
