Two men were injured when a Toyota Camry struck a utility pole on Route 106 in West Bridgewater at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Passerby helped the driver out of the car, but his passenger was trapped in the front seat until rescue workers were able to free him.
The car, which had a Maine license plate, was headed east when it hit the pole on the westbound side of the street opposite the headquarters of Shaw’s Supermarkets. The two victims were not wearing seat belts.
Both were conscious when they were taken away by ambulance. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Damage to the car was extensive.
