Knoxville, TN : One person killed and one injured in single-vehicle wreck in the Solway community on Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Knox County Sheriff’s Office said a man was killed and another was injured after a single vehicle wreck in the Solway community located about 20 miles west of Knoxville.

The driver of the 1996 Toyota Corolla was killed, according to deputies. They said the car’s passenger is being treated for injuries at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The accident was reported at the intersection of Solway and Guinn Road. WATE-TV’s crews at the scene said the road was covered in snow and some ice.

The car slid off the road due to weather and speeding, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office said neither man was wearing a seat-belt.
