Westbrook ,ME : 35- year old woman is dead and a man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Saturday night ,July 25th 2015

Police in Maine say a woman is dead and a man remains hospitalized after their motorcycle crashed in Westbrook.

Authorities say 35-year-old Jennifer Lavigne of South Portland was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center. The driver of the motorcycle, 37-year-old Brenton Blaise of Old Orchard Beach, was injured. Police say they have no information on his condition.

The single-vehicle accident happened at 8:35 p.m. Saturday on Pride Street in Westbrook.

Police say neither of the riders was wearing a helmet and that speed and alcohol were contributing factors.

Authorities say further investigation could result in criminal charges being file.
