Owatonna, MN : One person hurt in a two-vehicle crash near country club on Thursday, December 22, 2016

One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 35 in Owatonna.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that at about 2:20 p.m., a Mazda driven by Brian Kaspen, 31, of New Prague collided with a Ford driven by Brenden Swanson, 26, of Litchfield as both vehicles traveled northbound on Interstate 35.

At the scene, it appeared the Mazda left the road to the east, rolling onto the property of the Owatonna Country Club. Kaspen reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Owatonna Hospital. Swanson and his passenger, Charles Swanson of Litchfield, were not injured.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were dry, and no alcohol was detected in either driver. Kaspen’s car was towed with severe damage. The Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Owatonna Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.
