NEW LONDON, MO : Monroe City man seriously hurt in crash near New London on Thursday, 26th December, 2019

A Monroe City man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:45 a.m. Thursday near New London.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said William C. Sweet, 44, of Monroe City, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger west on Highway A, three miles west of New London, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Sweet was taken by Ralls County Ambulance Service to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. It was unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Department and the New London Fire Department also assisted at the crash scene.
