RIGA TOWNSHIP, MI : Lenawee County crash kills one woman, injures another on US-223 on Sunday, 8th July 2018

A Plymouth woman has been killed, and a Temperance woman injured, as the result of a head-on crash Sunday afternoon on US-223.

The Michigan State Police, Monroe post, which is investigating, provided the following details:

The two-vehicle crash happened about 1:10 p.m. on US-223 near Riga Highway. A 2012 Buick was eastbound, but crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2007 Saturn that was westbound.

Both drivers were transported to Promedica Toledo Hospital by ambulance for injuries suffered in the crash. Wendy Cook, 47, of Plymouth, who drove the Saturn, died at the hospital.
