Tampa, FL : Wrong-way driver arrested on I-275 near downtown Tampa on Monday, November 3, 2014

Construction crews and a Road Ranger were able to stop a wrong-way driver on Interstate 275 near downtown Tampa before anyone was injured. Tampa police say a passing vehicle alerted authorities to the wrong-way driver around 2 a.m. Monday. Authorities say 54-year-old Cornelia Johnson didn't cooperate with the investigation and was arrested on charges of driving while impaired. She would not tell police where she got onto the interstate and her female passenger refused to provide information. Tampa has had a recent rash of wrong-way crashes along I-275.
