Omaha, NE : 2 critically injured in southwest Omaha crash on Wednesday, February 22nd 2017
Two motorists who had to be extricated from their vehicles after a crash in southwest Omaha were hospitalized with critical injuries Wednesday afternoon.
A police investigation of the incident revealed that a green 1985 Ford Mustang driven by Cory D. Vohs, 24, was traveling northeast on Millard Avenue at “an extremely high rate of speed,” Omaha police said in a release.
The Mustang passed Q Street and struck a white 2017 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Nancy E. Brickley, 64, who was making a left turn from southwest-bound Millard Avenue on to southbound 138th Street, police said.
Both drivers, each the only occupant of their vehicles, were extricated by the Omaha Fire Department before being taken to the hospital.
Vohs, of Omaha, suffered from head injuries, broken ribs, internal bleeding, a broken pelvis, a broken femur and a broken ankle.
Brickley, also of Omaha, suffered from a broken femur, a broken ankle and a head injury.
Police are continuing to investigate.
