RAVENDEN, AR : Man dies in Sharp County car accident on Tuesday, 28th January, 2020

An Izard County man was pronounced dead Tuesday morning following a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 63, north of Ravenden.

Sharp County Coroner Renee Clay-Circle said her office was contacted at 7:39 a.m. A coroner confirmed the death of Devlin Bookout, 47, of Wiseman, which is west of Horseshoe Bend.Bookout was driving southbound on the highway in a 1997 Peterbilt truck when he ran off the side of the road and overturned, according to a preliminary fatal crash summary released by Arkansas State Police.

Clay-Circle said the vehicle was a large dump truck and the vehicle ended up in "a big field."

Local law enforcement requested the assistance of the Ravenden Fire Department and ProMed Ambulance of Imboden to the accident, according to a tweet by the Jonesboro E-911 Center.

ASP is investigating the accident. Roads were wet and there was fog, according to the crash summary.

It was the 37th fatal accident reported by state police.
