Wild driver arrested on assault charge

No one was injured after a traffic accident in Marshall ruptured a natural gas line. Marshall police reported the accident at 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of East Michigan Avenue. Officers said a 20-year-old woman was backing from a private drive and collided with a passing semi truck. The impact forced the car into a gas meter at an apartment house. The meter ruptured and began leaking natural gas. Residents of the building were evacuated until the leak was repaired by Consumers Energy.
