Five Germantown High School students were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
The incident happened about 7:10 a.m. at Mequon Road and River Lane, near the high school, according to Germantown Police Department Chief Peter Hoell. The five injured students were in the first vehicle; there were three students in the second vehicle who were not hurt.
Hoell said the first vehicle was turning left on northbound River Lane from Mequon Road and failed to yield the right of way to the second vehicle, which was turning right on northbound River Lane from Mequon Road.
The students injured were taken to hospitals and are expected to survive.
