EDNA, TX : 3 dead in 2 separate Jackson County crashes on Thursday, January, 25th 2018
Three men were killed Friday evening in two separate vehicular crashes in Jackson County.
Department of Public Safety troopers responded about 6:10 p.m. to Farm-to-Market Road 822 west of Edna, where a 2006 Chevrolet pickup and a 2011 Chevrolet pickup were involved in a head-on collision, said DPS Sgt. Ruben San Miguel.
He said the two male drivers were declared dead at the scene.
The road was shut down for about three hours but was opened about 9:30 p.m., San Miguel said.
He said the second crash was reported about 6:30 p.m. at SH 111 North. It was a three-vehicle wreck between a 2010 Honda motorcycle, a 2005 Mazda pickup and a 1993 Chevrolet pickup, San Miguel said.
He said the driver of the motorcycle was a man who died at the scene.
The male driver of the Mazda was treated and released at the scene, and the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were not injured, San Miguel said. Their genders were not available.
The names of the deceased, their ages and hometowns were not available late Friday.
San Miguel said the causes of the crashes were under investigation.
