NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV : DUI suspect in deadly North Las Vegas crash appears in court on Monday, 5th August 2024
A woman accused of driving under the influence in a weekend crash that killed a 9-year-old girl made her first court appearance Monday.
A judge set bail at $100,000 for Christina Sorensen, 63, during a hearing in North Las Vegas Justice Court. She would be subject to electronic monitoring if she posts bond.
North Las Vegas Police alleged Sorensen was driving a Chevrolet Corvette on Saturday, Aug. 3, and tried to make a left turn on a red light at Ann Road and Simmons Street.
A Jeep heading north on Simmons entered the intersection on a green light and crashed into the Chevrolet, according to police.
A 9-year-old girl sitting in a passenger seat in the Corvette was taken to UMC, where she was later pronounced dead.
