An unidentified pedestrian was struck late Tuesday afternoon in Newark.

Delaware State Police are still investigating the incident. The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Pulaski Highway near Brookmont Drive, shortly after 5 p.m.

Eastbound traffic on Route 40 is shut down.
