A man was killed early Wednesday when his truck burst into flames after hitting a highway bridge in Byfield, Massachusetts.

A 54-year-old New Hampshire man was killed when his Dodge Ram hit a bridge abutment at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 95 north, near exit 55.

State police said a truck went off the highway, hit the side of a bridge and caught fire.

The victim's name has not been released.

The crash is under investigation.
