TROY, NY : Car crashes into building in Troy on Sunday, December 4th, 2016

A Sunday morning crash closed 5th Avenue in Lansingburgh between 108th and 110th streets.

The single-car incident happened just before 10 a.m. in front of Jack Troy’s Auto Body Works at 366 5th Ave. The vehicle, a black sedan, struck a utility pole, causing it to crash to the ground. The railing in front of the body shop was also damaged.

The car’s airbags were deployed, and emergency response teams had to extricate the driver, who required medical attention.

A National Grid was brought in Sunday to replace the downed pole.
