Springfield, OH : Driver swerves to avoid deer, crashes into pole on Tuesday, March 19th 2017
A woman escaped serious injuries after her car slammed into a pole on Fold Ream Road in Bethel Twp. Tuesday morning.
The female driver told deputies she swerved off the road to avoid hitting a deer. She sustained a cut to her finger but did not go to a hospital.
The road remains blocked as Ohio Edison works to replace the pole.
Fifty Ohio Edison customers remain without power.A driver is reportedly trapped inside her vehicle after slamming into a pole on Folk Ream Road in Bethel Twp., Clark County Tuesday morning.
Medics, deputies, and state troopers were dispatched around 3:35 a.m. to the intersection of Folk Ream Road and New Carlisle Pike on a reported injury crash.
Initial reports indicate the vehicle slammed into a pole and rolled on its side. The crash also brought down a utility pole and power lines that are both still on top of the vehicle, trapping the driver inside.
Scanner traffic indicates the driver is alert, talking to first responders, and is complaining of minor injuries.
The crash has knocked out power to 119 Ohio Edison customers, according to an online outage map.
