Augusta,GA : Man injured in Burke County wreck dies on June, Tuesday 27th 2017

A man injured in a wreck on Highway 56 in Burke County has died.

Eddie Blount, 79, died in the shock trauma unit at Augusta University Medical Center at about 12:30 p.m. today.

The cause of death was listed as multiple systems failure, according to a Burke County Sheriff’s Office news release.

On June 16, Blount was involved in a crash between a dump truck and a car on Highway 56. The death marks the eighth traffic fatality this year in Burke County, matching the number for all of 2016.
