1 pedestrian killed, 1 seriously injured in Fayetteville collision

Fayetteville police said one pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured after being hit by a SUV Thursday night.

Police said a man and a woman were attempting to cross Cedar Creek Road near Bureau Drive around 7:30 p.m. when they were struck by a SUV.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

No one in the SUV was injured, police said.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
