GREENFIELD, NY : Driver faces DWI charge after Saratoga County crash on Saturday, 24th September 2016
Three people were hospitalized, and one charged with DWI, after an early morning crash on Route 9N.
Seaver P. Higgins, 22, of Mechanicville was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he was taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation and treatment following an accident in which he drove his 2012 Jeep Liberty off the road around 4:43 a.m., according the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.
Two male passengers, also from Mechanicville, were also transported to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation and treatment. All injuries from the crash are considered non-life threatening.
Authorities say their investigation revealed Seaver's vehicle left the right side of the road striking several mailboxes, a utility pole, boulders, a fence, and shrubs. The vehicle then overturned numerous times and came to a rest against a building on Route 9N.
Higgins was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Greenfield Town Court on a later date, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Porter Corners Fire Department, Greenfiled Fire Department, Jessup's Landing EMS, Wilton EMS, and Saratoga Springs EMS.
