NASHVILLE, TN : 28-year-old Rosa Villafranca was involved in a crash on Hamilton Church Road and Owendale Drive on Thursday, 22nd February 2024

A mother is facing charges after a crash caused her child to be thrown from the vehicle on Thursday in Antioch.

According to the arrest affidavit, 28-year-old Rosa Villafranca was involved in a crash on Hamilton Church Road and Owendale Drive on Thursday. Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the woman’s 4-year-old child was ejected from the truck and quickly transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for a potential skull fracture, the report states.

A medic with the Nashville Fire Department inspected the truck and reported the child’s booster seat was toppled forward, and there was no indication that it had been properly secured, according to the affidavit.

Villafranca told officers at the hospital how she was only intending to drive a short distance, so she only used the seatbelt to restrain him on the booster seat. She said her other child was left at home, according to the reporting officers.
