3 Men in Custody After 3-Hour Chase, Deadly Crash

Three men are in custody Wednesday, after allegedly running a red light and killing two people as they were driving away from officers.

The men were being chased after a burglary investigation in Auburn around 5 a.m. The three suspects led police on a chase through Auburn’s side streets, before ditching their car and stealing another one.

At that location, one suspect was taken into custody as the other two continued running.

They then took that stolen truck down I-80, with officers in pursuit. They exited in the Antelope area, and reached speeds of 90-100 mph as they ran red lights.

Near Antelope Road, their truck ran a red light and crashed into a car. Two people inside the car were killed.

The two remaining suspects took off running at that point; one was taken into custody right away, the other led officers on a ground chase through the neighborhood.

A helicopter flew overhead in the search for the remaining suspect, alerting people to stay indoors, and report any suspicious person they see in their yard or home.

The third, and final suspect was taken from a home along Eagle Point Way.

Nearby schools were put on lockdown as their school day was starting because of the police presence in the area. They are now back open.

At this time, three suspects are in custody, officers are still investigating and will be in the neighborhood for several hours.
