Oklahoma City,OK: Man found dead in crashed car after shooting in northwest Oklahoma City on October, Wednesday 4th 2017

Police are searching for answers after a fight led to a deadly shooting in northwest Oklahoma City.
Officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to a neighborhood near Northwest 27th Street and North Roff Avenue, where they found a body inside a car that had crashed into a light pole. The victim has been identified as Dontre Morris, 26.

“During this altercation, he was shot,” said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department. “He got into his vehicle to try and drive away and get help.”

Morris slammed into the pole and died, officials said.

Police interviewed several witnesses, including two women who authorities said were passengers in the vehicle. They reported that they don’t know what happened.

One of Morris’ friends said he was a kind man and doesn’t know why this happened to him.

The case is still under investigation. It is the Oklahoma City Police Department’s 65th homicide investigation of 2017.
