Newman, CA : Suspected drunken driver crashes into deputy’s patrol car near Newman on Monday morning, November 17, 2014

A man suspected of DUI was speeding about 100 mph when he crashed into a Stanislaus County deputy vehicle early Monday morning, authorities said. Raymond Musquez III, 21, had a blood-alcohol content level that is more than twice the legal limit, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. The impact of the crash knocked the deputy's vehicle 200 feet down the road. The deputy, identified by authorities as David Neuman, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Musquez was evaluated by the California Highway Patrol for alcohol and then was arrested on DUI charges, the CHP said. His blood-alcohol content was 0.22.
