Central Texas Woman Killed in Highway Accident

A Milam County woman is dead after a fatal accident Saturday afternoon.According to the Department of Public Safety dispatch, the victim, Zina Ann Pitts, 39, of Gatesville was driving south on State Highway 79 in Milam County.Just before 1 p.m., she came upon a stop sign at the Farm to Market 2095 intersection.DPS reports Pitts drove her 2011 Chevy Cruze into the intersection and was struck by a 2009 Dodge Pickup truck.Justice of the Peace Andy Issacs pronounced Pitts dead at the scene.Her body was taken to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.The driver of the truck, Nabil Silvey, 33, of Milano was not hurt.DPS is still investigating this crash.
