BLUFFTON, OH : A Bluffton man was critically injured in single-car accident on Saturday, 21st April 2018
A Bluffton man was critically injured in single-car accident late Saturday night north of the village, the Lima post of the State Highway Patrol reported.
According to the patrol, Jacob A. Garmatter, 23, of Bluffton, was northbound on Tom Fett Road north of Columbus Grove Road at 11:38 p.m. when he drove off the left side of the roadway and the vehicle overturned and came to rest in a field. The patrol reported Garmatter, who was not wearing safety belts, was ejected from the vehicle and became partially entrapped underneath the vehicle.
Bluffton Fire and EMS responded to the scene and freed Garmatter, who was then taken by Mercy Health Life Flight to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center where he was reported in critical condition on Sunday.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to the patrol. Assisting at the scene were the Bluffton Police Department and Able’s Towing.
