Newport News, VA : Driver injured following crash in Suffolk on Friday afternoon, March 10, 2017

One person was airlifted to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.

Crews responded to the crash in the 7800 block of South Quay Road/Route 58 about noon, and the driver was taken to the hospital via Nightingale with injuries not considered life-threatening, Klink said.

One eastbound lane on Route 58 was subsequently shot down, but the road is now open, she said.
