Collin County, TX : One person killed in SUV crash with tractor-trailer at Texas 78 and County Road 549 near Copeville on Thursday afternoon, Aug 6, 2015

The driver of an SUV was killed instantly in a crash with a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon.
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety said state troopers were called to unincorporated Collin County at about 2:21 p.m. on the report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Texas 78 and County Road 549.
Investigators learned the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban went through a stop sign, crossed into the state highway headed west and collided with a big-rig as it passed through the intersection in the northbound lanes.
Police said the driver of the Suburban, whose name has not yet been released, was killed instantly.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not seriously injured, the DPS said.
The intersection, which is near the community of Copeville, will be closed for the afternoon while the investigation into the crash continues.
