ATWATER, CA : Two injured in major crash in Atwater on Friday, October, 13th 2017

A woman and a man were thrown from a vehicle Friday afternoon in a suspected drunken-driving crash on the outskirts of Atwater, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The identities of the two people were not immediately available.

Officers were called at 3:42 p.m. to the area of Applegate Road and Moran Road, on the southwestern outskirts of the city. Neither person was wearing a seat belt and both were ejected from the blue Toyota Scion FR-S.

The female driver and male passenger were flown to a Modesto hospital with major injuries, Sgt. Steven Lewis told the Sun-Star.
