Nashville, TN : Maymona Mohammed, 21, dies after being ejected in Antioch crash on Friday morning, January 30, 2015

A 21-year-old woman who was critically injured after she crashed her car and was ejected early Friday morning in Antioch has died.

Metro police said Maymona Mohammed was traveling south on Hamilton Church Road near Murfreesboro Pike around 3:30 a.m. when her car traveled off the road, struck a ditch and rolled for approximately 150 feet.

Mohammed, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected an estimated 20 feet from the vehicle into the woods.

She was transported to the hospital where she died several hours later.

Officers on the scene told News 2 Mohammed’s vehicle hit a natural gas line, causing a minor gas leak.

Hamilton Church Road between Murfreesboro Pike and Mt. View Road was closed for about five hours.

Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement.
