Maryville, TN : Five, including two children injured following three-vehicle crash on Tuckaleechee Pike near Heritage High School on Monday, August 15, 2016

Five people, including two children, were transported to the hospital Monday following a three-vehicle crash on Tuckaleechee Pike near Heritage High School, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. as Braden F. Huddleston, 16, was driving eastbound on Tuckaleechee Pike and came upon a Dodge pickup truck stopped and waiting for another vehicle to turn left onto Fieldview Road.
Huddleston was distracted and did not notice the pickup was stopped, according to a Blount County Sheriff’s Office report. Huddleston, driving a Jeep Wrangler, swerved into the oncoming lane in an attempt to pass the pickup and collided head-on with a westbound Toyota Sequoia SUV, the report said.

The impact of the two vehicles caused the Jeep Huddleston was driving to crash into the truck.
Huddleston and his passenger, 17-year-old Harley Hull, of Country Meadows Lane, Maryville, were taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to University of Tennessee Medical Center. Neither were wearing seat belts, deputies reported.

A hospital spokesperson said Tuesday they could not provide information on either patient.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Tricia K. Lawler, 42, Panoramic View Drive, Maryville, was transported by Rural/Metro to Blount Memorial Hospital. Her two juvenile passengers — Finley S. Hagenow, 3, and Taylor K.
Weidman, 9, both also of Panoramic View Drive — were also taken to BMH by Rural/Metro. A hospital spokesperson said Lawler was treated and released, but no patient information was available on the two children.

The driver of the pickup, Johnny P. Davis III, Ellejoy Road, Walland, was possibly injured, but was not taken to the hospital, the report said.
