A local man was issued a civil violation after a crash that damaged his truck and caused a slight injury to his hand on Saturday.

Mitchell Palmer, 19, of Bristol, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 north on Plank Road on Saturday. Palmer, who had two passengers in the truck, lost control of the S-10 while attempting to negotiate a curve, police said.

The truck spun sideways and then left the roadway. Palmer’s truck ultimately overturned onto its right side before coming to rest.

As a result of the crash, Palmer sustained a laceration to his right hand but neither passenger was injured.

The crash was reported around 4:20 p.m.

A Vermont civil violations complaint for “unreasonable and imprudent speed for conditions and hazards” was issued to Palmer.

The crash happened on a gravel road that police said was dry at the time.
