Daytona Beach, FL : 45-year-old woman killed by car crash in Daytona Beach Shores on Tuesday around 9.30 p.m June 24th 2014.

A woman who was walking on the beach in Volusia County was hit and killed by a car around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 45-year-old woman, who is from North Carolina, was hit by a four-door Nissan being driven by a 35-year-old man from Florida. It happened near Dunlawton Boulevard, in Daytona Beach Shores.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Kim Montes.

The crash remains under investigation.
