SEDGWICK COUNTY, KS : 1 killed in crash near Derby at K-15 and 63rd Street South on Wednesday, 27th March 2019

One man is dead and two other people are hurt after a two-vehicle crash near Derby.

The wreck was reported a little before 7 p.m. on Wednesday at K-15 and 63rd Street South.

A lieutenant with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says the crash involved two trucks. The lieutenant says one truck collided with the back of another that was disabled on the side of the road on 63rd street.

The impact sent both trucks into the ditch.

The sheriff's office says the man who died was outside of the disabled truck when the collision happened.

Sedgwick County dispatch says a second person injured in the crash was taken to a Wichita hospital in serious condition, while a third suffered minor injuries.
