A Granby man was killed in a one-vehicle accident near his hometown early Saturday.
Trevor E. Kelly, 44, was traveling westbound at 12:55 a.m. when the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported his 2006 Pontiac Vibe crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 60, ran off the roadway and overturned, a mile east of Granby.
He was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Joplin at 1:58 a.m.
A Seneca infant was injured, and the driver arrested and charged with seven counts after a one vehicle wreck Friday in Western Newton County.
Damien W. Robinson, 23 of Seneca, was traveling northbound on Route Y seven miles east of Seneca when the patrol noted his 1995 Ford 150 traveled off the roadway and overturned.
Rylee P. Wood, 1, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment of minor injuries after the 3:40 p.m. wreck.
Robinson was taken to the Newton County Jail at 4:32 p.m. and charged with felony second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, failure to register a vehicle, no valid driver's license, and no seat belt.
Four people sustained minor injuries in a three vehicle chain reaction collision Saturday on U.S. Highway 71 about a half-mile north of the Arkansas state line in McDonald County.
A southbound 1999 Dodge Ram driven by Cory D. Alexander, 29 of Carterville, started sliding and struck the rear of a 2000 Honda Odyssey driven by Juan C. Hernandez-Macias, 26 of Fayetteville, Arkansas, which then struck the rear of a 2013 GMC Acadia driven by James M. Charlton, 44 of Harrisonville.
All three drivers plus a passenger in Hernandez-Macias' vehicle, Frederico Deras, 48 of Fayetteville, Arkansas, were hospitalized after the 9:25 a.m. wreck.
