Scotland, CT : A head-on crash in Scotland on Tuesday, 21st April, 2020
The condition of a retired UConn fire captain who was critically injured in a head-on crash Tuesday has improved, a Hartford Hospital spokesman said.
Dana Barrow’s condition was upgraded to “fair” Thursday, Steve Coates said.
Barrow, 63, was injured when a driver who state police said was drunk collided head-on with him in Scotland. In addition to driving while under the influence of alcohol, Melissa Carducci-Brooks, 40, of Coventry was charged with failure to maintain proper lane and failure to have minimum insurance.
The 2012 Honda Pilot LX she was driving crossed into the eastbound lane “directly in front of” Barrow’s 2007 Chevrolet Impala on Huntington Road about 7:45 p.m., police said.
