Somis, CA : Man Suffers Major Injuries In Somis Crash on Wednesday, January 7, 2015

A man suffered major injuries in a two-car crash Wednesday in Somis, officials said.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred about 6:45 a.m. on westbound Highway 118 near La Cumbre Road.
An 87-year-old Granada Hills man failed to stop his vehicle for traffic and it crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Somis man, the CHP said. After the crash, the 87-year-old man’s car was blocking a westbound lane of the roadway, the CHP reported.

Westbound traffic was diverted to the north shoulder and eastbound traffic was directed to the south shoulder, officials said.

The Granada Hills man was unresponsive at the scene and was taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks with major injuries, authorities said.
