Logan County, IL : 1 killed, 1 injured in separate I-55 crashes in Logan County on Wednesday, 23rd January 2019

A Missouri semitrailer truck driver was killed and a Glencoe man was injured in separate crashes Wednesday on Interstate 55 in Logan County, state police said.

A semitrailer truck was southbound on I-55 when the driver apparently had a medical incident and went off the road about 5 p.m. at Exit 127, which is the ramp to northbound I-155 on Lincoln's northwest side, police said.

The driver, a 63-year-old Independence, Mo., man, was taken to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was being withheld until his next of kin can be notified, police said.
