Shippensburg, Pennsylvania
A Chambersburg, Pa., man was flown to a hospital after he was hurt in a one-car wreck Friday night.
Matthew A. Ott, 27, was driving a 1994 Acura Integra north on Olde Scotland Road south of the Interstate 81 interchange about 5:15 p.m., according to a report from the Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg Barrack. He "was attempting to overtake a vehicle by passing on the left around a curve," the report states.
When Ott rounded the curve, there was a vehicle in the oncoming lane. He steered back into the northbound lane but lost control of the Acrua, according to the report.
The car hit an address sign and a speed limit sign, then went into a cornfield on the east side of the road. The car "rolled over several times and came to an uncontrolled final rest in the cornfield facing mostly east," the report states.
Ott suffered "injuries of unknown severity" and was flown to Hershey Medical Center, police said.
A spokeswoman at Hershey said the hospital did not have records for Ott.
Federal law protects the privacy of patients' medical records.
According to the report, Ott was ticketed for violating limitations on passing on the left.
