Bristol, TN : West Virginia man charged with 5th DUI in fiery Bristol crash on Friday night, November 7, 2014
Bristol, Tennessee police say a West Virginia man driving under the influence caused a fiery crash Friday night.
The accident happened at the intersection of West State Street and Highway 126.
Bristol police told News 5 a Toyota Sequoia, driven by Nikita Miller, was stopped at the intersection, when she was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Joseph Shandor of Freeman, West Virginia.
Police say the accident was so violent, it caused the Sequoia to catch fire.
Rescuers had to pull Sydney Hatcher, a passenger in the Avalanche, from the car.
According to the Sullivan County Jail, Shandor is charged with his 5th DUI, 2 counts of felony reckless endangerment, 2 counts of aggravated assault, Driving without a license, possession of a handgun while intoxicated, and having a handgun without a license.
As of Sunday morning, Shandor was still in the Sullivan County Jail.
