Renton, WA : Renton man one of three injured in crash on SR18 on Thursday, 8th September 2016
A Renton man was one of three people injured in a three-car collision Thursday on state Route 18.
Michael G. Johnson, 45, of Renton was transported to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue following the accident, as was Jaxob McKinney, 30, of Maple Valley, and James Bussey, 73, of Puyallup.
According to police, Johnson and McKinney were traveling east on SR18 when McKinney slowed for traffic. Johnson, driving a 2017 Peterbilt semi truck, struck McKinney’s Ford F150 and pushed it into the westbound lanes where it was hit by Bussey, also driving an F150.
Johnson’s truck came to rest in the eastbound ditch, McKinney’s in the westbound ditch and Bussey’s in a westbound lane.
The two F150s were totaled. The semi was towed away.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and charges may be pending, though police believe there was no drugs or alcohol involved.
