A woman who was hit and killed by a car while she was doing yard work Wednesday has been identified, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Betty Lavern Grigsby, 64, of Hendersonville, was "weedeating" when a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck her on South Rugby Road, Trooper David Williams, of the Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened around 3:45 p.m.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
