Knoxville, TN : Pedestrian struck and killed on I-275 south /I-40 east on ramp Sunday evening, Sep 20, 2015

A pedestrian was struck and killed along the I-275 south and I-40 east on ramp Sunday evening. The accident happened just before 5:00 pm. A preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was hit while walking on the interstate and pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Knoxville police say the investigation is ongoing.
