Macon ,GA : One woman died in early morning wreck on I-16 involving multiple vehicles on September, Saturday 2nd 2017
A 36-year-old woman died early Saturday morning in a chain-reaction wreck eastbound on Interstate 16 in Twiggs County.
Tracey Williams from the Atlanta area died of blunt head trauma, said Twiggs County Coroner Harold Reece. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:25 a.m.
Williams son, who is about 5 or 6, was in a car seat in the backseat. The child was transported to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon with non-life threatening injuries, Reece said. A Twiggs County deputy was staying with the boy until his family could get to the hospital, he said.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash which occurred just before 6 a.m., Reece said.
