An Orofino woman and a Lenore man were driving two of the vehicles involved on a four-vehicle crash June 5 near the north entrance of the Clearwater River Casino, according to the Idaho State Police (ISP).
The crash began when Karen Wing, 64, of Clarkston, WA, was facing south on US95, milepost 307.9, at 11:22 a.m., about to turn left onto Nez Perce Drive.
According to ISP, the rear of her vehicle was impacted by 68-year-old Dennis Hayes of Lenore.
Both drivers decided to move their vehicles off the highway, and Wing proceeded into Nez Perce Drive.
Heather Morton, 24, of Orofino, was traveling northbound on US95 and was impacted by Hayes on the driver’s side, according to ISP. Morton then impacted Jacob Whiteplume, 47, Lapwai, who was waiting to turn right onto the northbound lanes of US95, according to ISP.
Morton and two passengers were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where they were treated and released for minor injuries.
Wing and Whiteplume were uninjured. Hayes was uninjured and was cited and released for reckless driving, according to ISP. The investigation is ongoing.
